Impostor word game: IMPOSTOR: Last Word

Updated:

To play an impostor word game with friends, open padconsole.com on a TV or computer, everyone scans the QR code with their phone, and pick IMPOSTOR: Last Word. In this 4–8 player game everyone's phone shows the same secret word, except one: the impostor doesn't know it. Take turns saying a short sentence about the word; say enough to prove yourself, not enough to teach the impostor. Then you discuss and vote in secret. It is the game "Spyfall" and "Undercover" fans look for, with no app install, paper or cards needed.

PadConsole: the game runs on the TV, the players' phones are the controllers
With PadConsole the game runs on the TV and every player's phone is the controller.

How to play

  1. Secret wordHold the card on your phone to see your role and the word. The impostor can't see the word, only a hint everyone shares.
  2. Speaking roundIn turn, everyone says a short sentence about the word. Saying the word, its root or a translation is not allowed. Too obvious teaches the impostor; too vague makes you a suspect.
  3. Discuss and secret voteAsk questions, catch contradictions; when everyone is ready, the secret vote happens on the phones. Eliminating someone takes more than half of the living players' votes.
  4. DefenceWith no majority there is a defence and a second vote; if that fails too, the impostor escapes.
